I started Emmerson Studios, a business where I bring my perspective as a Shoshone and Blackfeet Native American woman to the art of storytelling through photography.
As a photographer, producer, and art director, I specialize in commercial, portrait, and fashion work. My background in marketing, production, and styling allows me to create imagery that feels both vibrant and true to each client’s story.
For nearly a decade, I’ve been capturing work that celebrates authenticity and collaborating with Indigenous artists to elevate powerful narratives.

The Only Fast Fashion I Support - Las Vegas Casino Fashion Shoot
This might just be the fastest photoshoot I’ve ever pulled off, and it perfectly sums up why I love photography! Las Vegas has always been one of my favorite places to visit, and I’ve always dreamed of shooting a fashion editorial inside a casino. Since professional photography isn’t allowed, I had to get creative. During a trip with friends (one of which happens to be a professional model), we pulled it off under the radar, posing as a group of girlfriends snapping night-out pics! It was spontaneous, bold, a little risky, and hands-down one of my favorite projects ever.

I typically have a 3–4 week turnaround time, but it always depends on the specific project. For collaborations, the timeline might be a little longer depending on my client load. Need it sooner? We can absolutely discuss a rush timeline, just note that rush fees may apply.

First, you tell me what you're looking for, whether it's branding photos for your business, portraits, or something totally creative. From there, we can hop on a quick call to talk through your vision. Depending on the package you choose, we’ll start building a moodboard together and walk through every detail like wardrobe, hair and makeup, overall vibe, so nothing gets overlooked. I’ll also help you find the perfect location, whether that’s a natural outdoor space or a studio that fits the aesthetic we’re going for.
Once everything is aligned, we’ll pick a date, create a shot list to make sure we capture everything you need, and then I’ll get to work on editing your final images. The entire process is collaborative, creative, and tailored to bring your vision to life.

Yes! I love trading with other talented folks when my schedule allows. I've traded with hairstylists, beaders, seamstresses, you name it! As long as my client workload isn’t too heavy, I’m happy to explore a fair trade.

Studio fees are not included in my photo packages because every shoot location is so different. Some are outdoors, in homes, or at personal workplaces. That said, I’ve got a list of favorite studio spaces and would love to recommend one that fits your vision.

Once you reach out, we’ll talk about your vision! Whether it’s a portrait session, branding shoot, or something totally custom. I’ll send over my photography packages and pricing, which can always be tailored to your needs. Then we’ll sign a contract, pay a deposit, and start building a mood board and style plan together. I’m with you every step of the way!

My full name is Emmerson Edmo-McArthur. I love using it professionally because it makes me feel strong and confident. Most friends and clients call me Emmie, a nickname passed down from my great-grandma Emmie who helped raise my incredible grandmother.
Right now, Emmerson Studios covers everything I do: photography, website creation, social media management, and production. One day, I dream of opening a physical studio space under this same name!
