My MOB Magazine Interview and Cover Feature: Exploring Story, Heritage, and Modern Fashion
Being part of MOB Magazine’s November 2025 issue was a big moment for me. I photographed the Sculpted Muse cover story and was interviewed inside the issue, which made it feel like a genuine step forward in my work! Seeing my images on the cover and being able to talk about the perspective behind them in the same issue is something I’m really proud of.
In the interview, I talked about where my style comes from and how much of it is shaped by the stories, environment, and community I grew up in as a Shoshone and Blackfeet Native American woman. Those early experiences taught me to notice subtleties, emotion, and intention in a way that still guides every shoot. That’s a big part of why I approach fashion and portrait photography the way I do now.
MOB asked about collaborations that influenced me creatively, and I shared my work with Chef Pyet DeSpain for her cookbook. What started as a simple cover session turned into a project rooted in trust, culture, and shared vision. It reminded me how much stronger the work becomes when everyone involved is invested in the story.
They also asked about a project that challenged me, and I talked about Roots in Motion for Utah Indigenous Fashion Week. Blending traditional elements with modern editorial style pushed me in the best ways. It made me rely on my instincts and keep the story clear instead of trying to make everything “perfect.”
Toward the end of the conversation, we talked about what’s next. I’m interested in moving more of my work into fine art spaces and taking on visual campaigns that highlight Indigenous representation in fashion and contemporary art. I want to continue creating images that feel intentional, grounded, and true to the communities and stories that influence them.
Overall, this MOB feature meant a lot. Having the cover and the interview in the same issue gave me space to show both my visual work and the thought behind it. I’m grateful to MOB Magazine for inviting me into the conversation and letting me share more of my perspective.
